Named for its unique (residents only) tidal rock pool, one of the largest in the area, guests are invited to swim, explore, and recharge whilst fully immersed in the unprecedented natural landscape.

Previously a boutique hotel, the property played host to many distinguished guests including Nelson Mandela and Richard Branson. The property has been re imagined as a luxury villa, with abundant space for 18 guests in 9 large suites. A perfect solution for families and groups traveling together to enjoy ample interior and exterior areas for entertainment and shared experience, whilst also having the sanctuary of individual suites providing a haven to rest and recharge. The intention to employ a soft minimalism to the interiors allows the vast and dramatic natural surroundings to shroud the villa without distraction. There are a number of outdoor activities to enjoy including fynbos trails, fishing/canoeing on the lake, coastal paths, and of course the rock pool. Rock Pool Villa also boasts a sauna, studio, treatment room, and gym. 

Avid golfers can take advantage of two nearby local courses and numerous additional ones along the coast while food and wine lovers can delight in an array of eateries and nearby wine farms. Private airlines and Cemair provide regular flights directly from most of South Africa’s major cities to the small airport minutes away from the property. 

The Robberg Nature Reserve – a national monument steeped in history with prehistoric rocks and Stone Age artefacts – is a mere 5km away. Rock Pool Villa sits within 40ha of protected nature reserve that forms part of the Robberg Coastal Corridor. Private guiding available on request to the entire 18km coastal hike.
